A Lebanese engineer from Tripoli, Nadine Adra graduated in Civil Engineering and Arabic Literature from the Lebanese University and obtained a Ph.D. in sustainable energy. As of today, she has yielded 20 years of accomplishments, among which her success in climate issues and green buildings that earned her to become a French citizen.
Dr. Adra is currently the managing director of the Total Energy Company in France, working on renewable energy. In the past 10 years, she was awarded many titles of recognition.
She received the European Union Prize for Sustainable Energy in 2009, was named The French Businesswoman in 2014, and received her Knight of the Order of Honor in 2017 from back-then French President Francois Hollande.

According to Dr. Adra, Lebanese have to change their architectural behaviors and rationalize energy in buildings and factories. She considers that using renewable energy (solar energy) should be a basic element in Lebanon.
She says that women have a lot of potentials; however, even in France, they make additional efforts to prove themselves. According to her, more women should be present in senior management positions in large companies.
With all her achievements, Dr. Adra did not stop doing what she loves. She still practices her hobbies, which include writing poetry, and she has her own 2019 collection of poems.
Dr. Adra has stated that she is keen on helping Lebanese students in France scientifically or get jobs there.
A role model of success and a beacon of hope for Lebanese people especially women, Dr. Adra was one of the many Lebanese people who had dreams and visions she could not have realized in Lebanon due to the status quo of our country
