, Lebanese expats show a good image of Lebanon in their communities. However, social media and the news are not enough to connect the Lebanese expats to Lebanon. This is where “DiasporaID” comes in handy!
What is DiasporaID?
It is a digital platform that aims at connecting the Lebanese Diaspora with its homeland. This initiative also hopes to facilitate the contribution of the Lebanese expats to Lebanon and allow them to collaborate to the development of their country. The website is not launched yet. However, the Prime Minister of Lebanon Saad Hariri will launch the digital platform next Thursday. The launch will take place at 11:00 AM at the Grand Serail in Beirut. In fact, DiasporaID is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Lebanese Diaspora Energy
(LDE) is another initiative that aims at building a bridge between the Lebanese Diaspora and Lebanon. Also, this patriotic initiative got launched by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in 2014 under the tenure of Minister Gebran Bassil. Its objectives are:
- Celebrating the Diaspora’s success stories
- Promoting the Lebanese heritage
- Establishing connections between the Diaspora and the residents
- Exploring new possibilities for Lebanon
During the 4th Lebanese Diaspora Energy (LDE) Conference held at BIEL, President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad Hariri signed the first decree that allows Lebanese expats to reclaim their nationality. Let’s make this happen:
