There aren’t enough words to describe Lebanese success in numerous fields around the world. From fashion to the medical fields, Lebanese people are shining with all their ingenious glory!
Jawad Fares’ story is one of those success stories.
Jawad Fares is a medical doctor, researcher, and scientist. After years of success, he was selected for the 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the Science and Healthcare category for his contribution to the healthcare sector in the MENA region.
His selection by Forbes came as a result of a series of research made on injuries from cluster munitions that led him to create the “Fares Scale of Injuries due to Cluster Munitions” to assess the injuries fixed upon functional impairment.
According to the American magazine, “the scale helps better classify the wounds of victims and determine the best possible treatment.”
And Dr. Fares also made it on Forbes Middle East’s 30 Under 30 in 2019.
Born in Madrid and raised in Beirut, the Lebanese doctor has a rich portfolio. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the American University of Beirut (AUB), a Master’s degree from the Neuroscience Research Center of the Lebanese University (LU), and graduated as a Medical Doctor also from AUB.
He was also selected as one of the top 10 young scientists in the world Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News in 2018.
Jawad Fares is also a postdoctoral fellow in neurological surgery at Northwestern University, USA.
Earlier in May, Fares was invited to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) 2022 to present the work he and his colleagues have made to advance new therapies for patients with brain tumors.
