The Lebanese documentary Enough! Lebanon’s Darkest Hour won 5 major awards at the Wisdom Tree International Film Festival.
Directed by Lebanese-Australian journalist and filmmaker, Daizy Gedeon, the documentary grabbed 5 awards, including:
- Best Documentary Feature Film
- Best Inspirational Feature Film
- Best Director
- Best Trailer
- Best Sound Design
“I am heartened and humbled to know that the voice of the Lebanese people is resonating with audiences around the world,” expressed the director on her Facebook page.
The documentary has so far won 19 awards, including the Movie That Matters Award at the 2021 Cannes International Film Festival, and Best Documentary at the Vesuvius International Film Fest, among others.
The documentary was selected for many film festivals, namely the Toronto International Women Film Festival (2021), Beverly Hills Film Festival (2022), and the Cinque Ports International Documentary Film Festival (2022).
Enough! Lebanon’s Darkest Hour revolves around the country’s main issues and focuses on the years-long corruption, funds’ embezzlement, and the post-war political status quo that brought the country to collapse.
The documentary is produced by Patrick Rohr and features special appearances by Elie Saab, Tom Fletcher, Frances Guy, George Khabbaz, Dr. James Zogby, and more.
