Breaking another low record value, the price of the dollar has exceeded 13,000 L.L. against the Lebanese lira on Monday.

Black market traders are selling the dollar for 13,500 L.L. and buying it for 13,300 L.L. as of Monday afternoon. This sudden change in the exchange rate has occurred within days.

The national currency has lost more than 85% of its value since before the economic collapse.

Supermarkets in several cities across the country have begun to shut down as a result of the quickly deteriorating situation.

The crisis is leading to chaotic and uncontrollable repercussions as people fight over subsidized goods in supermarkets.

The drop of the Lira has formed a wave of newly erupted protests from the North to the South as the political officials remain unmoved by the dramatic deterioration of the economic situation.
