A Drug Smuggling Attempt At Beirut Airport Led To The Arrest Of The Operation Mastermind

A female passenger was caught at Beirut Airport attempting to smuggle 2kg of cannabis (hashish) hidden in her body.

After intensive investigations, the Central Narcotics Control Office (CNCO) identified the mastermind behind the smuggling operation as M. A., a Syrian National, born in 1993, who resides in an apartment in Bchamoun.

A force from the Special Group in the Internal Security Forces (ISF) raided the apartment and arrested him.

The search in his apartment resulted in the confiscation of a Qatari driving license, and 3 passports, along with a Cell phone, 43g of marijuana, 100g of the narcotic substance Al-Dukha, and a quantity of hashish.

The items along with the suspect were placed at the Central Narcotics Control Office for further investigation, based on the reference of the pertinent judiciary.
