Select Dubai restaurants have begun offering discounts to diners who received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Under the slogan, Spread love, not ‘Rona, spots run by Gates Hospitality, such as Publique, Reform Social & Grill, Ultra Brasserie, and Bistro Des Arts, are giving residents 10% off their orders if they took the first dose of the vaccine and 20% for getting both.
To get the discount, restaurant-goers should show proof that they have been vaccinated, such as a medical certificate.
According to Gulf News, around 2.5 million residents out of about 10 million in the UAE have already been vaccinated.
While the stunt raised some criticism on social media, others commended the effort to promote the vaccine and encourage people to take it. It certainly is an effort of cooperation with the state to end the pandemic.
