Egypt has reaffirmed its decision to remain neutral in the Israel-Palestine conflict, a stance that gains new significance in light of recent revelations.
An Egyptian intelligence official disclosed that Israel had ignored multiple warnings from Egypt about a looming “something big” from Hamas. Despite these alerts, Israeli officials were more focused on the West Bank, underestimating the threat from Gaza.
This comes after Egypt itself was recently attacked by Hamas and experienced an incident involving Israeli tourists and an Egyptian tour guide.
The Egyptian government’s neutrality aims to safeguard its national interests while navigating a volatile regional situation.
In addition to its neutral stance, Egypt is also expected to open a humanitarian corridor between Gaza and its territory.
This move aligns with Egypt’s long-standing role as a mediator between Palestine and Israel, especially since signing a peace deal with Israel.
