Adding her voice to the many voices that extended condolences and expressed solidarity with the Lebanese people on the first anniversary of the August 4 explosion, Egyptian actress Sherihan has shared touching words about Beirut and the Lebanese people.
“You will remain my winter, my summer, and all of my seasons on the same day and on the one day, for that is you, and that is your destiny; that you’re beautiful, wonderful, great in all languages and dialects of the whole world,” the movie star and singer wrote in a tweet.
“You have no equal or anything similar. I’ve loved you since I was 7 years old; the beginning was my brother and mother, and the end – you have no end, oh, Beirut…”
“I chose you of my own free will and loved you unconditionally, so you became my second home and an integral part of the details of my life and sentiment…,” Sherihan continued.
“And even if the pain and agony lasted, it is only true that hope is ‘justice’ for the great people, and what’s certain is that Beirut has a stature and a will that does not, and will not, die.”
The revered actress accompanied her words with a video of Beirut that showcases aerial scenes of Beirut while stanzas and statements about the city, by Lebanese and Arab artists and poets, play in the background.
