On Sunday, Électricité du Liban (EDL) announced the provision of 12 hours of electricity exceptionally to areas surrounding the Beirut Port.
This followed the collapse of parts of the Beirut Port silos, and the power was provided from Sunday at 7 pm till Monday at 7 am.
These are the areas that benefited from this:
Beirut Port, Al Medawar, Rmeil, Saifi, Karantina.
Preventive and precautionary measures were issued in a joint statement by the ministries of health and environment should the silos collapse and release potentially toxic chemicals back into the air – you can read it here.
