For the eighth year, the Lebanese NGO dedicated to Mental Health, Embrace Lebanon, is organizing the “Into the Dawn” walk on Sunday, September 11, at 5:00 am.
The “Into the Dawn” is a silent walk in memory of those who lost their lives due to suicide and aims at keeping the conversation on suicide open to spread a message of hope.
The 1-kilometer silent walk will start from the Beit Ward restaurant in Beirut and ends at the Raouche rock.
When announcing the event, Embrace reported on its Instagram account that Lebanon lost 145 people to suicide in 2021, adding that someone takes their own life every two days in Lebanon.
Embrace had issued earlier a few tips to promote better self-talk for people to shift their internal dialogue to a healthier one, and have a more optimistic mindset.
In addition to promoting mental health, the NGO supports people who need help by removing the stigma around mental health, while also offering treatment for those who can not afford it by introducing its latest service: The One For One Online Clinic.
