A considerable amount of medicinal drugs was found thrown away in dumpsters in southern Lebanon on Wednesday morning.
The drugs, which were discovered in two large boxes in two dumpsters in the city of Sidon, were all found to be expired.
A video taken of the expired medications shows various drugs, ointments, and supplements in the pile.
Notably, some of the packs had an expiry date of December 2018. The origin of these medications has yet to be known.
This comes as people across the country struggle to find their medications amid a severe shortage of drugs.
It also comes amid a crackdown on stockpilers and black-market sellers of medicine in Lebanon, which has included raids on warehouses found to be storing massive amounts of drugs.
In that regard, caretaker Health Minister Hamad Hasan has encouraged the Lebanese to call his personal number and report any stockpilers or smugglers of medicine that they might know about.
