At 1:30 am local time, residents of Dahye and neighboring areas in the Southern suburbs of Beirut reported hearing a sound of an explosion.
A bomb had exploded in the Ghamloush jewelry store as part of a dispute between families.
Al Sharif clan issued a statement saying, “Yesterday, our son, First Lieutenant Ali Sharif, was subjected to an attack by men who betrayed him.”
They considered “this cowardly and blatant attack as an attack on the entire clan and therefore we warn the owners of the Ghamloush stores against opening their shops or taking any provoking action.”
