A sound of a strong explosion was heard in the Qasqas area of Beirut and thick plumes of smoke were seen, causing panic among the residents of the area and the city.
According to the Beirut Mayor, Jamal Itani, the sound of the explosion was caused by a fire that broke out as a result of burning waste and one of the tires, which caused the explosion of a diesel tank for one of the electric generators in the place.
The Beirut Fire Brigade moved to extinguish the fire and there were no injuries.
People in Lebanon, especially in Beirut, are still leaving on edge from the trauma of the Beirut Blast that occurred on August 4th, 2020. With no justice done and no perpetrators caught, the fear remains that the tragedy will be reiterated.
