Over 27,000 forged university degrees have been granted to Iraqi students declared the Kuwaiti media, Al-Anbaa, in a report. The price for a master’s degree is $5,000 and for a doctorate, $10,000.
Consequently, the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education suspended the studies of Iraqi citizens at three universities in Lebanon; the Modern University of Business and Science, Jinan University, and the Islamic University of Lebanon.
The Iraqi Ministry of Education will investigate these cases. The Lebanese Minister of Education, Abbas Al-Halabi, promised to prosecute all those involved.
In June, a student was sentenced to 3 years of hard labor for issuing a fake baccalaureate degree.
