The committee of families of Beirut Port explosion victims responded in a statement to the controversial remarks that caretaker Health Minister Hamad Hasan recently made about the victims of the deadly August 4th blast.
“The political corona that infected the ruling men in Lebanon appeared clearly on His Excellency the minister, who has come to hallucinate between health and the judiciary after he appointed himself a judge and issued his prejudice, which his masters dreamed of, that what happened from the Beirut Port explosion is fate…”
The committee added that with his remarks, Hasan disregarded “the feelings of the martyrs’ families with his unjust judgment and by describing their martyrs as ‘those who died.’ “
“It seems that the conscience of His Excellency is closer to this description,” the statement continued.
The statement comes 3 days after the caretaker minister referred to the deaths that resulted from the August 4th explosion as “fate,” during a TV appearance.
Hasan came under fire soon after he made the controversial statement. He also faced backlash again when a photo of him having dinner with a group of people, clearly violating social distancing rules, invaded social media.
