On Sunday, the FIFA World Cup Trophy was unveiled in Lebanon for the first time during a VIP event.
The event held at the Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport was set to reveal one of the most prized Trophies in the world and celebrate the 2022 FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place in Qatar starting from November 2022.
The trophy was accompanied by the famous Brazilian footballer and football legend, Juliano Belletti, who met Lebanon’s Minister of Sports and Youth, Georges Kallas, and the president of the Lebanese Football Association, Hachem Haidar.
Tolga Cebe, the Vice President and General Manager of the Middle East for Coca-Cola, expressed excitement to bring the World Cup Trophy to Lebanon “to inspire a spirit of hope and optimism for a bright future for the youth of the country,” he said.
The trophy tour will visit 51 countries as a part of touring 211 Football Nations by the year 2030, as well as the 32 FIFA World Cup qualifying countries.
The tour by Coca-Cola began its journey from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and then traveled to Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and now Lebanon. The tour will continue to Saudi Arabia next and will stop in Qatar later this year ahead of reaching its final destination.
