Winter is said to have officially hit Lebanon after last week’s snowstorm. With the decrease in temperature and the increase of winds speed, Lebanon is preparing for winter’s first significant rainstorm this week.
Last Monday, meteorologists at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport stated their expectation of a rainstorm with winds up to 90 kilometers per hour happening this week.
The rainstorm is said to hit all of Lebanon, from South to North.
The storm will peak today with a possible snowfall at high altitudes (very good news for ski enthusiasts!).
Lebanese people are preparing themselves for this heavy storm since things get a little bit complicated during this time of year.
In fact, this passed October, autumn surprised the country with a significant storm and strong winds. This resulted in flooded streets, hail shattered cars’ and houses’ windows, and knocked down trees and construction equipment.
