Five Medical Workers in Lebanon Just Recovered from COVID-19

Notre Dame Des Secours University Hospital in Jbeil just announced that five medical workers have recovered from coronavirus (COVID-19) after testing them twice with a negative result.

The hospital confirmed that the five members are of its nursing staff who were infected with the virus after a man admitted to the hospital had symptoms consistent with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Notre Dame Des Secours University Hospital explained that the five recovered patients left the hospital’s coronavirus ward after they spent more than 15 days in quarantine.

These recoveries raise the number of fully recovered cases in Lebanon to 8, with only 3 deaths by COVID-19.

The Ministry of Public Health confirmed 11 news cases on Tuesday 23rd March afternoon with Lebanon now recording a total of 267 coronavirus cases.

With the recovery of these five medical workers at the Notre Dame Des Secours Hospital in Jbeil, it remains 5 other staff members at the hospital infected with the coronavirus and still in the treatment phase.

As Lebanon battles through this outbreak, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces confirmed that it continued its work effortlessly on all Lebanese lands to implement the decision of the general mobilization.

The army has been asking the people to remain in-home quarantine and not to go out, except if it is absolutely necessary, in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Internal Security Forces have fined already 227 people, including McDonald’s in Ain Mreisse, for violating the government’s general mobilization decision.

These measures have been implemented to reduce the number of infections that have been increasing drastically. The army has been enforcing the decision throughout Lebanon and in Beirut specifically.

The general mobilization is said to end on Sunday, March 29th. Any extension has not been announced yet but it is most likely that the government will either extend it or come up with new decisions to ensure people are quarantining and social distancing.
