Passengers from Kuwait can now catch flights to Beirut 6 days a week, according to NNA.  The increase of flights is pinned on hopes to boost tourism to crisis-hit Lebanon over the summer.

The Lebanese Ambassador to Kuwait, Hadi Hachem, inaugurated Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways’ flights between Kuwait and Beirut “as an additional option for tourists and expatriates who want to spend the summer in Lebanon,” NNA reported.

Lebanon’s Middle East Airlines and Kuwaiti Airlines each operate direct flights between Kuwait and Beirut twice a week already, so with the addition of Jazeera Airways the flights increased to 6 days per week.

“We contacted the administration of Jazeera for its return to Beirut so that we can meet the needs of the Lebanese community and the Kuwaiti brothers who wish to visit Lebanon,” Hachem said.

“Lebanon remains an attractive destination for the Kuwaiti people despite the challenges they are currently facing,” he added, calling on Kuwaiti nationals to spend the summer in Lebanon.

Jazeera Airways CEO, Rohit Ramachandran, said, “We are excited for the return of flights to a favorite summer destination for tourists and travelers visiting family and friends.”
