A father and his three sons were arrested on Thursday in Sarafand, south Sidon, after attacking and killing a 14-year-old Syrian boy.

The victim, Khaled Hammoud Al-Saleh, was reportedly severely beaten in southern Lebanon earlier in the week, as a result of a dispute between him and a Lebanese teenager.

Al-Saleh died in the hospital from fatal injuries sustained in the attack. An investigation is underway.

This attack comes a few weeks after the Lebanese government announced its plan to begin repatriating Syrian refugees, sending 15,000 people back to Syria each month.

Though the motivations are unknown as of yet, the approximately 1.5 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon may face further stigmatization and hostility as a product of repatriation efforts.
