The FPM supporter (also referred to as Aounist) approached the reporter while she was trying to give a layout of events unfolding in Awkar.
“Only the Aounists are here because only the Aounists are hungry,” the woman said before proceeding to push the MTV correspondent telling her, “Get out of here.”
The angry woman was held back by other FPM supporters telling her that her actions won’t “look good” for them.
The news executive producer at MTV Lebanon, Jean Nakhoul, immediately shared a video of the incident on Twitter, writing that, “when the hungry people took to the streets on October 17th, they were made to look like traitors and mercenaries, bribed or funded by embassies, thugs, homosexuals, and devil worshipers.”
It is interesting since the Aounists. who have been against the Lebanese Revolution and their demands, are claiming that they are the only one enduring hunger…
It is the second time FPM supporters assault MTV‘s crew within days. During Judge Aoun‘s raid on the weekend, members of an FPM-affiliated group called ‘United For Leb’ attacked the news crew and vandalized one of the station’s cars.
