Only days after meeting with President Aoun, the newly appointed French ambassador to Lebanon Anne Grillo has tested positive for the coronavirus.

She, along with several other embassy staff, has contracted the coronavirus, but luckily she is in good health according to a statement by the French embassy.

In fact, doctors believe she has recovered but must remain isolated before they can confirm the virus has left her body.

Until then, she is self-isolating and continuing to work from the Pine Residence.

Last week, Grillo met with President Aoun at Baabda Palace to hand over her credentials.

“From today, I will work with determination and enthusiasm to renew the French-Lebanese relationship, as requested by the French President,” she tweeted.

Newly appointed Grillo took the place of Bruno Foucher, who served as France’s Ambassador to Lebanon from 2017 until 2020.
