French Shipping Company Launched “Supports Lebanon” Operation

CMA CGM is a transport and logistics group committed to energy transition; a French shipping company with 200 shipping routes in more than 100 countries. They aim at reducing the environmental impacts both in sea and on land.

They have recently launched the CMA CGM Supports Lebanon Operation to provide aid to less fortunate families, and those who are most in need during this time of year.

With the situation in Lebanon, this will be a boost to the economy as the Group aims to support the local economy by ordering food from local producers.

With the help of CEVA Logistics, the food will be donated to different NGOs and orphanages.  They also provided dispensaries for medication.

The NGOs that benefited from this initiative were: S.O.S. Village d’Enfants, Association Ashghalouna, Association LIBAMI, Association Chabeb Sour, Foundation Al-Tawarek, Orphelinat Soeurs Dominicaines de Sainte Catherine, Orphelinat Saint Charbel des Sœurs des Saint Cœurs, Association des femmes de Tarik El-Jdideh, the dispensary of Eglise Saydet An Niyah, and Saint Peter and Saint Paul Church.

Medication wise, Centre médico-social Notre-Dame de Lourdes, Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Saint-Joseph Damour, and Makassed dispensary were the beneficiaries.

Representatives from all these groups attended the launching at the CMA CGM headquarters in Beirut.

35 tons of foods and 2 cubic meters of medicine, all ordered from Lebanese producers, have been given out to support the Lebanese NGOs. Hundreds of people are benefiting from this amazing initiative.

Great initiatives have been seen throughout this revolution; many trying to support local produce, others lend a hand to those in need. Love of one another has never been seen this strong in Lebanon.
