A member of the Syndicate of Gas Station Owners in Lebanon said that the remaining gasoline stock in stations will only last till the end of this week.

In a statement, George Brax showed grave concerns towards the situation claiming that it is “very dangerous” as several companies all over the country are running out of gasoline.

Brax also said that the country is heading towards complete paralysis if the situation remains as it is and urged officials to act quickly because the country is “being destroyed.”

It is to note that the Lebanese Army has been doing extensive raids on stations hiding fuel and has uncovered millions of liters of stored oil.

The current disagreement between the Central Bank and the Ministry of Energy and Water about the prices of fuel has put a halt to the supply of gasoline because importing companies are stuck at the shore waiting for credit lines to be opened.

Talks have emerged stating that fuel subsidies will be partially lifted again which will price one tank at 8,000 LBP/Dollar. This will allow 100,000 tonnes of fuel to enter the country giving a very temporary solution to the crisis.
