A gas tank exploded Friday morning in a residential apartment in Beit Misk in the Metn region, resulting in around eight people being wounded.

According to the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Red Cross, Georges Kettneh, two of the wounded victims have been hospitalized “but their injuries are not serious.” He also added that the building was severely damaged.

The Civil Defense responded to a fire that ignited after the explosion, which has reportedly been under control. They later stated that the gas tank explosion occurred in the building’s basement causing damage to the upper floors.
