Georges Khabbaz Honored During The Lebanese Film Festival In Canada!

A week ago, the first edition of the Lebanese Film Festival was held in Montreal, Canada. In fact, the special guest of this event was the renowned Lebanese director Georges Khabbaz. The mayor of Ottawa Mr. Jim Watson honored Khabbaz during the festival. The aims of this festival were to engage Lebanese-Canadians with Lebanese art and to introduce Lebanese movies to the Canadian audience. Prominent Lebanese figures attended the festival such as the Ambassador of Lebanon Fadi Ziade, the bishop of Canada Marwan Tabet, and a member of the House of Commons Eva Nassif. The following films got screened at the festival:

  • Ghadi
  • Single, Married, Divorced
  • Halal Love
  • Very Big Shot
  • Stable Unstable

Also, the film “Ghadi,” which got screened in Montreal and Ottawa, won the Audience Award in both cities. It was written by Khabbaz who also played one of the main characters in the movie. According to
