German President to visit Lebanon at the end of the month

The President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier is set to visit Lebanon at the end of January. He will arrive on January 29 and leave on January 31. It will be the first visit by a German President in 120 years. According to

, the Lebanese President Michel Aoun invited Steinmeier to develop the relationship between the two nations. The meeting will take place before three donor conferences which will help Lebanon in solving national issues:

  • Rome II: Lebanon’s security crisis
  • Brussels II: Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon
  • Paris IV: Lebanon’s economy and infrastructure

Steinmeier will meet with the President, the Prime Minister, and the Speaker of the Parliament.
