If you’re a university student in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field, the Generation Google Scholarship for women is offering qualified students a 7,000 EUR award for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Amid the economic free fall in Lebanon, Google’s offer comes as a savior for students who are no longer financially capable.
Lebanese women doing their university studies in that field can now apply online and no later than December 10th, 11:59 PM GMT.
The application process is easy and involves the following:
- General background information (e.g. contact information and details about your current and intended universities)
- Resume/CV
- Academic transcripts from your current and prior institutions (if you have earned a prior degree)
- One letter of reference from a professor, instructor, adviser or supervisor
- Responses to short essay questions
- Recipients will be selected based on the overall strength of their essays and application materials compared to the entire applicant pool or respective peers (e.g. Bachelors students compared to other Bachelors students).
These requirements will help Google ensure that the money spent is strictly on tuition, fees, and all the required university supplies. Otherwise, Google will withhold the scholarship.
There are five short essay questions to respond to, with no more than 300 words each.
Google strongly urges women interested in computer sciences to apply.
