Shots were fired at a gas station at the Kafa’at roundabout in the southern suburbs of Beirut on Tuesday afternoon.
The heavy gunfire, reportedly from a group belonging to the Zaiter clan, targeted the Jabal Amel gas station before it went up in flames.
The cause of the attack has yet to be determined, but local media has reported that the group had wanted to refuel at the gas station before the violence broke out.
The Lebanese Army later deployed to the area and managed to arrest some of the shooters.
The army’s move was met with more heavy gunfire from other outlaws, who vandalized the Kafa’at roundabout and broke into the nearby campus of the Lebanese University, according to Lebanon24.
A video circulating on social media shows two gunmen on motorcycles opening fire at the gas station.
Another video and additional photos show a massive fire raging at the station, which broke out after one of its gasoline pumps was shot.
