USAID Revealed That Over Half Of Lebanese Households Need Food Aid

The Arab Weekly

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator, Samantha Power, arrived in Lebanon on Tuesday for a 3-days visit, aiming at providing support for the Lebanese people.

“More than half of Lebanese households are in need of some form of food assistance, a situation that has been exacerbated by Putin’s war against Ukraine,” USAID said in a statement.

During her trip, Power is planning to engage with the Lebanese government and business leaders to press for serious reforms and meet with those working to combat corruption and strengthen the private sector.

She will also meet with Lebanese and Syrian students and will visit USAID projects that are building sustainable food systems and tackling renewable energy to provide drinking water for communities in need.
