Lebanese singer Assi El Hallani’s son, Al-Walid El-Hallani, took to his Twitter account to proudly show off an image of himself taking the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in Dubai.

In a since-deleted tweet, Hallani’s son wrote, “I received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today. Thanks, Dubai, for the excellent medical care.”

Considering that Assi El-Hallani was extremely criticized for not abiding by safety measures during the peak of the pandemic, Al-Walid’s tweet was not received well at all, and within minutes backlash flooded social media.

Assi El-Hallani was previously fined a large sum of money after performing live to hundreds of people on New Year’s Eve at Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand Hotel, where it was later revealed that 25 positive COVID-19 cases were detected from the audience.
