Mohammad Deif, Chief Commander of al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, has kicked off Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
The operation follows rocket attacks and incursions near Gaza. It aims to counter Israel’s actions at al-Aqsa Mosque and against female worshippers.
In the first phase, over 5,000 rockets and shells were launched. Deif rallied Palestinian fighters, saying, “Today is the day to end the enemy’s time.” He noted prior warnings to Israel about al-Aqsa and worshippers’ safety.
Deif also urged Palestinians in the occupied West Bank to act against Israeli settlements. He called on those in occupied al-Quds and 1948 territories to join the fight.
His call extended beyond Palestinians to Resistance groups in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. Finally, Deif urged nations like Algeria, Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt to back the operation.
