Hariri Officially Does Not Want to Be Prime Minister Amid Consultations

After circulating rumors that Lebanon’s Caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri will be reappointed as Lebanon’s Prime Minister, he has officially taken himself out of the race, as reported by The Daily Star. The news comes following an official statement from the Caretaker PM’s Office on December 18, 2019.

Hariri did say, however, that he would take part in the binding Parliamentary Consultations on December 19, 2019, with his insistence that this process should not be postponed or delayed any further.

Hariri’s Future Movement parliamentary bloc will meet on December 19, 2019, in the morning to determine its position over who to name, the statement said.
