It’s finally there! Right now, the most-watched movie on Netflix in Lebanon is the Lebanese movie Heaven Without People.
After briefly hopping up and down Netflix’s top movies list over the past two days, the acclaimed Lebanese drama-comedy, Heaven Without People, has reached its final destination at the very top on Thursday.
The film’s journey to dominate Netflix in Lebanon started on Friday, May 15th, when it released on and rocked the platform for the first time.
When it took the 2nd place among the top movies in Lebanon 2 days ago, its only remaining competition was the Hollywood rom-com, The Wrong Missy.
The Wrong Missy has now become the second most-watched Netflix movie in Lebanon.
As for the top list of most-watched movies and series, Heaven Without People still maintains its spot at the 3rd place, as it has for the past couple of days.
Lucien Bourjeily’s debut feature has scored several awards at international film festivals and found itself into the hearts of Lebanese film buffs, who have not restrained their excitement about this inspiring national production.
For the 6th day after its Netflix explosion, people are using Twitter and other social media platforms to express their appreciation of the movie and engage with its team.
The intriguing story behind the dinner-table drama, as Bourjeily has said, was inspired by several real events and stories from Lebanese families, instead of one particular incident.
