There’s been heavy celebratory shooting in Haret Saida and the Beirut suburbs after the announcement of Nabih Berri securing his position as Head of Parliament for the 7th term – continuing a 30-year streak.
Berri won by 65 votes, whereas 23 were blank, and 40 were invalid.
This comes days despite Nabih Berri having earlier called onto his partisans not to shoot as a result of the parliamentary session.
Four children were seriously wounded during the parliamentary elections that took place on Sunday, May 15th, 2022.
