Hezbollah’s deputy chief, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has announced that the group is already “in the heart” of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Qassem’s statement comes amid escalating tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border, where both sides have exchanged fire. Hezbollah aims to “weaken the Israeli enemy,” according to Qassem.
He also mentioned that Hezbollah is keeping three Israeli army divisions occupied in the north, preventing them from preparing for a ground offensive in Gaza.
The group has lost six fighters, marking the highest daily toll since the conflict began two weeks ago. There are growing concerns that Hezbollah, backed by Iran, may open a new front in the Israel-Hamas war.
