U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein is poised to present a pivotal proposal to Lebanon concerning the border conflict with Israel.
The proposal, crucial for de-escalating tensions, includes plans for Hezbollah’s Radwan forces to retreat north of the Litani River and cessation of rocket attacks on Israeli posts.
In return, Israel would withdraw from occupied territories, including Ghajar and the 13 contested points. Additionally, the Shebaa Farms would be transferred to U.N. custody.
This comprehensive package aims to fully resolve the border dispute, including the complex issue of Shebaa Farms. Hochstein’s discussions with Lebanese officials in Beirut are highly anticipated for their potential impact on regional stability.
