Lebanese Caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib confirmed that American mediator Amos Hochstein has made new proposals regarding the maritime border demarcation file.
“He certainly came with new proposals which I cannot disclose,” Bou Habib said, in response to a reporter’s question.
Bou Habib is convinced that the talks between President Biden and Israeli PM Lapid will lead to an agreement this month or the next one.
“There is progress but we have not reached the end until now,” he stated without further details.
The U.S. Embassy in Beirut voiced optimism over the visit that U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein made to Lebanon last Friday.
“The United States is committed to helping forge an agreement for the people of Lebanon,” adding, “We echo his (Hochstein) optimism.”
