When a magnificent rooftop club is known to have reshaped the Lebanese nightlife, and it is dubbed “the best in town” by both locals and tourists, it becomes more than a party icon.
It turns into a dazzling magnet to foreign lively cities seeking the same. That’s the Skybar of Beirut!
And so it is that the Skybar of Beirut has materialized as Sky 2.0 at the Dubai Design District (D3) in Dubai. It has just opened its doors wide for some 2,500 party guests for a unique nightlife experience.
Expectations are high with the residents of Dubai that Sky 2.0, in its super venue at D3, will match the fiery all-dancing and all-singing exalted nights of Lebanon Skybar.
It does indeed have a high standard of excellence to keep up with, and we don’t doubt for a moment that it will; Dubai being Dubai, and the legendary Skybar leading the way.
Sky 2.0 has scheduled its open days of the week for Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 PM.
Its various weekly events start with reggae-themed Oh Na Na on Wednesday nights and go on with Dream on Thursdays and Boom Box on Fridays.
Established in 2003, Skybar launched initially its superclub on the roof of the Palm Beach Hotel.
In 2007, it relocated to the rooftop of Biel for a superb open night view of the capital and surrounding cities up to the mountains, and the Mediterranean sea.
By 2009, ranking Best Bar in the World, Skybar has been by far one of the most famous and breathtaking nightclubs in Lebanon and the region.
Skybar went on earning global fame, and rightfully so. It featured in various top international media outlets, from broadcast to magazines and newspapers, highlighting its super venue of prime technology and design, and its blazing all-party events.
Skybar has been also a magnet to the worldwide entertainment industry. It has hosted top performers from around the world, and hip-hop superstars like Busta Rhymes, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Wyclef Jean.
Skybar reflects strong Lebanese characteristics, not only with its creativity and joie de vivre, but also in being unstoppable whatever the circumstances.
In 2015, a fire swept through the club and ripped it apart, forcing it to close down.
Within two years, this Lebanese superclub of ours sprang back in the sky of Beirut and the region, more glorious than ever.
Now, less than two years later, it materializes its dazzling offspring in the extraordinary city of Dubai.
