The official Instagram account of Lebanon’s caretaker Information Minister has been hacked.
“I would like to draw everyone’s attention that my official Instagram account has been hacked,” caretaker Minister Manal Abdel Samad said in a tweet on Wednesday.
The account in question is verified. It is separate from the official’s personal account, which remains active.
As of the time of writing, the hacked account has no posts and follows no accounts. It also currently has no profile picture and has one single follower at the moment.
On a related note, Abdel Samad attended a meeting at the Information Ministry last month with cybersecurity experts to discuss launching a media awareness campaign against hacking and cyberattacks, in coordination with the concerned private and public entities.
