The Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, asked that all election materials get removed from public spaces.
He instructed all the heads of governates in the country to circulate to the District Commissioners, all municipalities, and municipal unions the order to remove all advertisements, posters, election banners, and pictures of candidates from roads, public walls, electricity and telephone poles, tree trunks, and traffic lights.
He requested that this be done immediately.
Accordingly, the Beirut Municipal Guard and the fire brigade began removing all pictures and banners from the capital.
