Iranian Foreign Minister Arrives In Beirut After Plane Turned Away From Syria

The Iranian Foreign Minister’s plane was forced to land in Beirut after Syrian airports came under attack. Initially set to arrive in Damascus, the aircraft had to return to Iran before rerouting to Lebanon.

The minister was received by Lebanese officials upon landing and is slated for diplomatic talks. The diversion was necessitated by security concerns in Syria, where airports were targeted.

The minister’s unexpected arrival in Beirut comes amid Lebanon’s ongoing economic and political challenges.
