Caretaker Energy Minister Walid Fayyad announced that the fuel oil that Lebanon will receive for its electricity plants from Iran will be a grant and accordingly is exempt from any sanctions.
“We will follow up on this issue and we have received reassurances that it will move forward,” Fayyad added, after meeting President Michel Aoun in Baabda.
“We are preparing a treaty and the Iranian side is preparing the details,” the minister noted.
The Arab Tawhid Party leader Wiam Wahhab had said earlier after meeting with Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah that the Iranian (fuel oil) grant is ready to be delivered to Lebanon.
