After intensive investigations, a suspect in the theft of motorbikes was spotted in the neighborhood of Hay-Al-Selom in Dahiyeh, Beirut, on 7/15/2022.

The suspect (M. R., born in 2004, Syrian) was arrested and interrogated. Upon his interrogation, he confessed to “stealing motorbikes for the benefit of the two brothers (H.N.) and (M.N.), nicknamed Awlad Um Hosho.”

The two brothers were wanted for multiple crimes; thus, on the same day, as soon as their whereabouts were known, a joint patrol raided the apartment of the siblings, leading to the arrest of one of the brothers:

H. N. (born in 1998, Lebanese), who is wanted for murder.

According to the statement issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces (ISF), the two detainees, along with the wanted brother (M.N.), formed “an armed gang to steal motorcycles and carry out pickpocketing and robberies by force of arms.”

During the interrogation, it was disclosed that the gang had stolen more than a thousand motorcycles about a year ago, “at a rate between 100 and 150 bikes per month in all the streets of the southern suburbs.”

The detainees also confessed to drug use.

The investigation for the whereabouts of (N.H.) is ongoing based on the reference of the judiciary.
