ISF Arrested Man For Stealing Electrical Cables Supplying Beirut Airport

The Internal Security Forces (ISF) arrested a Lebanese man accused of stealing
electrical cables from the network that supplies the Beirut Airport, the ISF reported in a statement.

Law enforcement announced that they searched the home of the suspect, H.B., a 24-year-old man, and found him extracting copper from stolen cables.

Reportedly, the detainee confessed to theft during interrogation and accused others of being his accomplices. The ISF is working on arresting the other individuals.

The officers reportedly also seized drugs in the suspect’s possession.

Thefts of electrical cables have increased recently, as the components include valuable copper. This can further complicate and limit the electricity supply in already struggling Lebanon.
