Israel reported that it has activated the Iron Dome defense system after a drone entered its airspace from Lebanon, the second incident in less than 24 hours.
According to Reuters, “air raid sirens sounded in the Galilee region of northern Israel, warning residents to take cover” and fighter jets dashed as a drone crossed from Lebanon on Friday.
Another drone was also intercepted from Lebanon, on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Lebanese government reportedly received a report from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) regarding the incident.
The Israeli Air Force, then, carried out several mock air raids over areas in southern Lebanon, on Friday.
Earlier this week, Hezbollah’s chief said his group has been manufacturing military drones in Lebanon, with the technology to “turn thousands of missiles in its possession into precision-guided munitions.”
