Israeli Missiles Reportedly Strike Lebanon-Bound Arms Shipment In Syria

SyriaHR | The Guardian

An Israeli strike took place on Saturday near Damascus. The strike targeted an arms shipment to Lebanon, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

A war monitor reported that the strike killed 5 pro-Iran militiamen. Other areas are said to house Hezbollah arms depots.

Syrian sources said that the strikes were intercepted by the Syrian air-defense system, and two Syrian soldiers were injured.

Israel is known to perform regular strikes on Syrian land, usually targeting Hezbollah and Irani bases in the area.

While Syria had accused Israel of performing strikes in the southern part of the country, this one was in the outskirts of Damascus, the capital.

An Israeli military official refused to talk about this strike, saying that they don’t comment on reports by foreign media.

A few weeks ago, Israeli Air forces conducted twice within a week similar airstrikes on Iranian positions in central Syria, on Oct 9th, reportedly targeting an arms shipment near the T-4 military airbase, killing 2 fighters, and on Oct 14th, killing 9 fighters.
