On Saturday, July 2nd, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) announced via its official Twitter account that it shot down 3 drones that approached its exclusive economic zone.
Hezbollah released a statement claiming responsibility for the drones, stating that they launched the drones for reconnaissance purposes.
Their statement added that “the drones carried out their intended mission and also sent the intended message to the Israeli side.”
The IDF downed the drones using F-16 fighter jets and naval combat ships. Benny Gantz, Israel’s defense minister, warned that Israel has the right to act and respond to any attempt to harm it.
