Lebanon’s caretaker Agriculture Minister, Abbas Al-Hajj Hassan, has confirmed that Israeli forces have burned down over 40,000 ancient olive trees in southern Lebanon.
The destruction was reportedly carried out using internationally banned white phosphorus bombs. Al-Hajj Hassan revealed that the Lebanese government is in the process of filing a complaint with the United Nations, condemning Israel’s violation of international law and Lebanese sovereignty.
He emphasized the Lebanese people’s right to defend their homeland, which he claims is under constant violation by Israeli warplanes flying over various Lebanese territories.
